A COMEDY SHORT AIRING ON WSVN’S “DECO DRIVE” (ABC)
“Iguana Bistro,” where every bite is an adventure! If you’ve ever been to South Florida you know there are giant iguanas everywhere. This got the wheels turning; what if this abundant, lean protein source could be turned into economical fast food? The only downside? A skeptical public not keen on eating lizard meat.
The solution was “Iguana Bistro,” a fast food joint where the employees were purposely vague about where the “food” came from.
I shot everything in about two hours on a green screen on a Blackmagic 6K Cinema Camera. Deco Drive’s Lynn Martinez played the pissed off customer and I played the smug jackass behind the counter. Other Deco employees filled in as the additional customers.
I edited and composited the segment in Davinci Resolve and used Adobe Firefly to generate the graphics and the background plates. The entire process took about 20 hours to produce. Budget? There was no budget.
