WSVN’s “Deco Drive” wanted to create an SNL style sketch that was a parody of a high-end fragrance ad. I wrote the script, got it approved and began production the next day.
We shot at WSVN studios in Miami on the Deco Drive set which has a large 3 wall greenscreen. All shots were staged working from a detailed shot list on a Blackmagic 6K camera. We only had the studio for an hour so working efficiently was a must.
Lynn Martinez stepped out of “news anchor mode” and brought her comedic chops to bear, ad libbing several lines that made it into the final cut. The piece was composited and edited in Resolve with background plates generated with Runway and stock images.
