A COMEDY SHORT AIRING ON WSVN’S “DECO DRIVE” (ABC)
WSVN’s “Deco Drive” wanted to create an SNL style parody of a high-end fragrance ad. I wrote the script, got it approved and began production the next day.
Talent shots were captured at WSVN studios in Miami on stage 1-D which has a large 3 wall green screen. I was the director and videographer and staged all of the shots working from a detailed shot list I hammered out the night before. Everything was shot on a Blackmagic 6K camera. We only had the studio for an hour so working efficiently was a must.
Lynn Martinez stepped out of “news anchor mode” and brought her comedic chops to bear, ad libbing several lines that made it into the final cut. I composited and edited the segment in Davinci Resolve with background plates generated in Runway and Firefly AI.
