A COMEDY SHORT AIRING ON WSVN’S “DECO DRIVE” (ABC)
After Lynn’s Dorito’s ad, Deco’s Alex Miranda was feeling left out so we made a fragrance ad for him!
I pitched Alex the idea of a fragrance named after a situation or an emotion. We tried “Uncomfortable” and “Frustration,” but ultimately settled on “Awkward” because I knew we could do the handshake / fist bump bit. I brainstormed the rest of the gags and we started shooting that week.
We shot two practical locations and on the green screen on two separate days using my Blackmagic 6K camera. Lynn Martinez graciously put on a bare-shoulder top for the nude beach scene. I edited the piece over two days in Davinci Resolve and generated the product shots using Kling.
“Awkward.” The fragrance for any occasion, even the most uncomfortable occasion you could ever imagine, like seeing your co-worker at a nude beach.
